I am a beekeeper from Malta. This hobby had been for long years in my family, as my father's granddad used to keep bees. The last one keeping bees in the family was my dad's aunt. In 2002 aunt started to slow down from beekeeping. She used to have about 17 hives and I used to help her with the bees. I started with 2 hives I bought from her before she stopped and than bought others from another beekeeper and split colonies myself, thus the hobby started. In Żabbar the town where I live the 'Tal-Ħawli' family is known for generations of beekeepers.
